Faith Formation

St. Luke’s offers a variety of opportunities for growing in faith.

Children’s Ministry

Sunday School classes are available at 10AM for children starting at age 2 going up through 5th Grade.  Classes include music, Bible stories, crafts and games. Our Church Nursery is open during Sunday School for all infants and 1-year olds.

Kids in Kindergarten through 5th Grades are invited to our Jesus And Me (JAM) Ministry, which is held on the Third Thursday evening of every month. This program includes interactive Bible stories, games, songs, and service projects as well as quarterly gatherings for all of our Elementary Schoolers to attend with their parents and siblings.

K-5th Graders are also welcome to join us on the first 3 Sunday Evenings of the month for Christ Centered (C-Squared), which includes singing, playing handchimes, learning Bible stories, and making crafts.

Each Summer, St. Luke’s  provides a week of Day Camp called, LutherRoad. This camp is for children who have just finished K-5th grade. It is led by camp counselors from Camp Lutheridge-Nouvous Way Ministries in Arden, NC. These counselors lead games, crafts, biblical concepts, and incorporate many songs throughout the day.

First Communion Class is offered for first graders and their parents. In this class, we bake bread, create First Communion Banners, and learn and celebrate the significance of Holy Communion. These children partake of their first Communion at our Maundy Thursday Service during Holy Week.

Youth Ministry

St. Luke’s has a weekly Sunday School class at 10AM for Middle Schoolers in 6th-8th Grades as well as a Sunday School Class for High Schoolers in 9th-12th Grades.

The Youth Group consists of Middle School Youth (6th-8th Graders), which meets on the first Sunday evening of each month, and High School Youth (9th-12th Graders), which meets on the second Sunday evening of each month. Both Middle and High Schoolers meet together in one combined group on the third Sunday evening of each month. In all of these meetings, the youth enjoy good food, games, fellowship, service projects, outings, and Bible study.

Confirmation Classes are provided on two Sunday afternoons a month for all baptized youth in 7th and 8th grades. After completing this two year program, Confirmands affirm their baptism on Pentecost Sunday.

St. Luke’s offers various opportunities for fellowship and Bible Study Together. Adults are able to join the Augsburg Class, which uses the traditional Augsburg Bible Study, or The Wired Word, which studies how Scripture intersects with current events. Adults might also consider the Luther League Class, which is a Topical Bible Study that changes Biblical topics to focus on from month to month.

Young Adults are invited to join our Young-ish Adult Sunday School Class, which incorporates short DVDs and youtube videos along with discussion on how the video relates to scripture and following Christ in our daily lives.
