What’s the best way to give thanks for the blessings God has given us? Sharing our blessings with others who are in need!
Every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, St. Luke’s works together with other local congregations in a joint effort as we purchase, pack, and personally deliver Thanksgiving Meals to families in need in Dorchester County. Our packing and delivery takes place after our ecumenical Thanksgiving Worship Service. This year, five Summerville Churches are joining together to deliver 250 Thanksgiving Baskets to folks in need in our community: St. Luke’s Lutheran, Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Summerville Presbyterian, Murray United Methodist, and Summerville Baptist.
Here’s how you can help:
Donate: Each basket is $40, but you can give any amount with your offering. Please make sure you mark on your envelope or check: 2021 Thanksgiving Basket Project. We need your donation by November 15th.
Deliver: We are in need of drivers willing to deliver 5-7 baskets on Saturday, November 20th, with no contact. All you have to do is ring the doorbell, and leave the basket at the door. Maps will be provided, and all drivers will leave from Summerville Baptist Church after we share a worship service together at 10AM. Facemasks and Social Distancing are encouraged.
